How We Can Help

The arts are an important development tool for Oklahoma communities. They impact our state and local economies, preserve our unique culture, enhance quality of life, and attract and retain a creative workforce.

The Oklahoma Arts Council serves communities by offering services, grants, and programs that cultivate and strengthen Oklahoma's arts and cultural industry. Grants

Grants from the Oklahoma Arts Council have a powerful multiplying effect for communities, generating $12 in private-sector contributions for every $1 granted. Without our funding many arts programs in the state would not be possible. Grants for arts programs in communities are listed below:

Oklahoma Arts Sector ARPA Grants
Made possible through the historic investment of $10 million of state American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding, Oklahoma Arts Sector ARPA Grants are one-time grants available to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations with arts programming that serves communities.

Community Arts Experience Grants
The Oklahoma Arts Council awards project funding through Community Arts Experience Grants to support festivals, exhibitions, performances, and other audience-based programs.

Community Arts Learning Grants
The Oklahoma Arts Council awards project funding through Community Arts Learning Grants to support workshops, classes, and other community-based arts learning programs serving people of all ages and abilities.

Creative Aging Partnership Grants
The Creative Aging Partnership Grant offers Oklahoma organizations support to build and expand arts learning opportunities for older adults through teaching artist residencies and workshops. Applications for grant funding of up to $15,000 to support creative aging programming are being accepted through September 16, 2024

Rural Arts Opportunity Grants
Available to organizations in select counties, Rural Arts Opportunity Grants provide up to $5,000 to support capacity-building and professional development activities, and learning-based or audience-based arts programs. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Oklahoma Arts and the Military Grants
Grants of up to $5,000 are available to support learning-based and audience-based programs that serve primarily individuals who are connected to the military. Military-connected individuals include active-duty service members, reservists, National Guard members, veterans, and immediate family members and caregivers.

Arts in Alternative Education Community Partnerships
Nonprofit arts organizations can apply for up to $25,000 to provide arts programming, training, and more at alternative education school sites as identified by the Oklahoma State Department of Education.
